Estrellitas Kid’s Reading Club at Instituto Estelar Bilingüe!

Estrellitas Kid’s Reading Club was AWESOME yesterday! There were six kids there, and they were thrilled with the event. Anna, the teacher, read Dr. Seuss in Spanish first — Huevos verdes con jamón — and had the kids repeating lines and discussing the reading. The fun story did not convince any of the kids to eat green eggs and ham!

Anna reads Dr. Seuss Green Eggs and Ham in Spanish at the bilingual reading club for kids, Estrellitas, at Instituto Estelar Bilingüe.

After a short break with cookies and juice provided by Instituto Estelar Bilingüe, Anna switched to English and read Clifford’s Puppy Days, by Norman Bridwell.

Anna reads an English book, and 5-year-old Brittany gets closer to see the pictures.

The kids left with huge smiles on their faces and said they would come back next week! The event is open to kids ages 5 to 10 in Guanacaste, Costa Rica, and only costs $1 (500 colones) to participate. We use this money to buy more books.

Look at those happy faces!
